Children & Family Services

Communicare is renowned for providing high quality Children and Family Services, staffed by experienced professionals in attractive modern facilities. Communicare delivers a wide range of services focused on providing children and youth with a healthy sense of self esteem that is vital to their development and capacity building of parents and families.

Short-term and long-term care for children aged birth to five years at our Occasional Child Care Centre in Cannington. Qualified Educators provide developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in an attractive, modern centre. Bookings can be made hourly, weekly or by the school term.
Before and after school care available within the south central metropolitan area of Perth. A free bus service collects and delivers children to and from local primary schools. Qualified, highly experienced Educators provide a safe and caring environment with a rich program of activities such as art and crafts, sports and team games.
School Holiday programs operating from Riverton; providing children with a safe, stimulating and creative program during school holidays. 
An Australian Government approved family day care service with more than 65 Family Day Care Educators registered to provide care for small groups of children in their own home. Family Day Care is a safe and nurturing environment where children care grow, develop and have fun. Our Service is supported by extensive professional development, training and service support. Enrolment vacancies are available. Persons interested in becoming Family Day Care Educators are welcome to enquire.

Family Support Services
Support for families with children and youth, aged birth to 18 years, and individuals living within the City of Canning and surrounding areas aimed at increasing the confidence and parenting skills of parents and families. Support includes information and referral options for parents, carers and families.

Young Active Parents Program
Support for pregnant young women and young parents aged 15 to 17 years to strengthen their inclusion, health and well-being as they transition through early parenthood.

Home Interaction Program for Parents & Youngsters
A project that aims to increase the participation of culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD), Aboriginal, and low socio-economic status children and adolescents into sport and active recreation and to build the capacity of sport and recreation deliverers within the South East Corridor of Perth (especially the local government areas of Belmont, Victoria Park, Canning, Gosnells and Armadale).

Parent and Community Engagement Program
Facilitiation of partnerships between parents, carers and the school community to strengthen the relationship between a student and their teacher to improve educational engagement and outcomes.

The WA Inclusion Support Programme aims to provide practical support and assistance to eligible early childhood and child care services to access resources and funding to remove barriers to inclusion for all children. The support services build the capacity of early childhood and child care servivces to provide high quality care and education that is inclusive of all children. The WA Inclusion Support Programme is delivered by Communicare in partnership with One Tree Commuity Services and Wanslea and is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training.

Our Parent and Babies Groups are weekly sessions for new parents to attend with their newborns to share experiences, get parenting information, make new friendships and enjoy parenthood.
Our supported Multicultural Playgoups ensure migrant children and their families are supported to feel a sense of community as they adapt to life in Australia. Culturally appropriate weekly sessions help women and their children to socialise, establish a routine, learn the value of play and are an opportunity to gain referrals to community services to support connectedness.
This program focuses on the health and developmental needs of children aged birth to 12 years, supporting parents and building child-friendly communities in the City of Armadale, Gosnells and Serpentine/Mundijong.
